We LOVE the farmer's market!

Just got home from the farmer's market with my special girl. There is nothing I love more than seeing her exploring all of the wonderful fruits and vegetables. And the owners of each booth are so kind and they always talk to her and tell her about each thing and how it's grown. She is so curious and it warms my heart! Today we came home with corn on the cob, Arkansas tomatoes, and plums! All her choices! She's sitting beside me begging to eat her corn right this second!
Keeping up with an almost four year old AND a bag full of vegetables while in downtown Little Rock is no easy feat. But if you know me you know I was loaded down with Thirty One product to make it a little easier!
Here is everything I used today!

2, Badge Buddy for my ID and money.
3, Key fob for my keys, also used as a mommy hook to attach my bag to my stroller.
4, Bring a bottle thermal to keep my fave beverage cool.
5, A pocket a tote for all my other necessities I just had to have. Chapstick and my phone obvi.
And all of this, plus my fruits and veggies,  fit on or in my essential storage tote (1)!

Who says you can't be stylish while being green??

Customer Wishlist

I found these great little sticky notes at Target and I've been wondering what to use them for. I finally found a good use! I added them to the front of all of the catalogs at my home parties and told the guests to write down their top four favorite products. The goal would be that if at checkout they hadn't purchased all four of their top favorites you could ask them if they would like to host their own party and earn them for free!
All of the guests loved having them to keep track of what they were looking at! It's definitely something I will be implementing at all future parties!

I love my custom planner!!

BIG thank you to Madaline over at Dear Madaline Designs! She took my brainchild and turned it into a beautiful planner! I told her what I wanted and what colors and she worked her magic and I couldn't be happier! I have a place to keep track of my parties, my daily checklists for my Thirty One business and team, a calendar of course, and area for my BIG ideas, and lots of room for notes!! I already have a list of new pages I need!!
Can I gush anymore over it? I LOVE IT!!!

Happy New Year!

Today is the first day of a brand new Thirty One year!
I'm challenging myself and each of you to sit down today and write down 3 goals that you want to achieve in your business this year!
If you're up to the challenge and willing to share I'd love to hear them!

Duck Duck Goose!

Hey Thirty One consultants!
I played Duck Duck Goose in my closed group last night and I'm happy to report that I had 2,227 comments and didn't lose a single group member. It was blast. All in all I think this game, done correctly, is super fun! I've booked a party and had a random order come in so far! Here is everything I've posted for the game:

*Contest Time!!! We are taking it back old school tonight, with a game we all used to play as kids! “Duck, Duck, Goose!"
Rules: You can literally comment AS MANY times as humanly possible under this post using only the words "duck, duckling, ducky, ducks". (if you post the exact same word every time FB gets cranky, so switch it up!)
I will randomly post the word "goose" 10 times over the next 3 hours (keeping it short so your phone isn't going crazy for too long!), ending at 9pm. Your phone will blow up with notifications, it’s ok, it’s worth it! The person whose comment is directly above and below my "goose" will be entered into a drawing (I will screenshot this each time because again, FB is weird and it could show you something different than I see, I will ALSO start a new thread if FB starts acting crazy)! So don't quit because you never know who is going to get goosed! You could still win up until the last minute!!! A random winner (drawn by Tenley) of those folks who ducked above and below my goose will win the Deluxe Utility Tote in the exclusive Fun Flops print!! The prize is valued at $50!! Time to act like a kid again and you don't even have to run! GO!

*Congratulations to our winner!
If you didn't win and still want to get a free bag* I am giving them away to anyone who books a summer party today! Message me if you are interested in your very own free bag!
*large utility totes to new June hostesses and essential storage totes to new July hostesses!

A few folks got blocked on facebook so I started new threads, I ended up with three total.

 TIPS:
Keep it short! You DO NOT want to drag this out over several days. I only did it for three hours and my phone was blowing up and the battery was drained!

Warn your customers that their phones will blow up! I posted in my group earlier in the day asking if a few hours of FB notifications nonstop was worth a free bag and they all said yes!

Keep up with how many times you say GOOSE! I only planned to say it ten times but lost count and did it twelve. Doesn't really matter but I like to stick to my plan.

Jamberry ladies get organized!

Post moved here: BabyGotBags.com

Snail mail is IT guys!

Recently I connected with a fellow leader who has KILLER sales every month. She's become my mentor and I'm already learning so much from her. She told me something that we've all heard before which is to send party invites for your hostess. I don't know about you but I LOVE getting mail. I will be much more likely to attend a party if I receive a real invite vs a facebook invite.
I told her, "I've tried to offer and they always turn me down." She said something that is going to change the way I party. She said, "Don't offer. Tell them."
So I did. I told my June hostesses I need you to get me at least 12 addresses of friends or family that you know would love Thirty One by such and such date.

Guess what? She sent 20!! That's 20 women that are going to have a look at our products before the party even happens! Which is awesome!
Another positive? If you have a lot of cancellations this will cut down on that. No one wants to have to call all those folks that have received their invites to cancel. It will be a lot harder to get cold feet!

When it comes to the invites, I ALWAYS use a mini catalog. The guests get a chance to see what to expect at the party and begin to make their wishlists. I put a label with the addresses on the front and I print out a cutely worded invite to stick inside. Cute wording is key! Find out from your hostesses what stage of life she and her guests are in. Tailor it to them. This is fun for you and your hostess to work on together.

You can make these as fancy or plain as you want. I tend to go with cute/fancy because it's eye catching. I want people to remember me and I do that by branding myself using cute graphics and text!

I hope you ladies will try this! You'll spend a little more up front on postage but I think it will be worth it for you in the long run! If you try it let me know in the comments!

Mom's night out!!

I'm a mom. I'm a sometimes very frazzled mom. Ok, a lot of the time. So I LOVE my Thirty One parties. It's a great way to get a break. I always come back refreshed and ready to go!
So of course having parties with other frazzled moms is one of my favorite things ever!! And this invite I designed for my next mom party sums it up PERFECTLY!!!
Like could not be any more perfect. I'm so excited to party with this room full of preschool mommas!

Easy summer adventures!

Summer time is upon us! That means a lot of things but for me it means a TON of walking! Tenley and I go on a lot of adventures in the summer and we need a lot of stuff when we do! Here is how I handle all that walking with a three year old AND all our necessities!
I roll it!
I pack everything we need for the day in the #thirtyone Rolling Thermal tote and I drag it with one hand and the kid with the other. Jk. I don't drag my kid. Often.

Throwing the light cold stuff in as I go. Love this new #thirtyone summer print! I'm ready for pool time!

I LOVE Jamberry!

I'm having a little Jamberry catalog show, my consultant Sarah was so gracious to provide me with a ton of samples and material. I of course had to stick it all in a Thirty One Timeless Beauty bag! Now I'm ready to earn some free goodies!

#prayforArkansas

My home state could really use your prayers.

Versatility man!

Most great inventions are born out of necessity. Not saying this is a great invention but it's certainly made my life easier. I have a Thirty One your way jr cube in my pantry for my baking needs. It's stuff that I don't touch every day so I had a lid on it, but a few of the things I've been using a lot lately. And I kept having to pull the cube out and take the lid off and find what I need (it was so time consuming, #FWP). One day apparently I tossed the lid to the side. Next thing I know I started stacking the things I was using the most in the lid. IN THE LID!! And that's when the idea formed. Lids aren't just for lids! I can totally do this on purpose! So I put the lid beside the bin and there lives the things I find myself reaching for a lot. Ta Da! I always say that Thirty One products are so versatile, and they really are, you just have to use your imagination!

Help me, I'm a mother!

I have a 3 and a 1/2 year old. She's the absolute light of my life and I love her dearly. BUT she's a tiny tornado that makes messes everywhere she goes! OMG I know you moms out there know exactly what I'm talking about. That SomeECard that says cleaning the house with a toddler is like brushing your teeth while eating oreos is EXACT! Hits it right on the head. We're really working on cleaning up after ourselves and choosing one toy at a time. Establishing good habits and all that jazz. It's hard for me because I'm not very organized, so I'm working on new habits too. Shout out to the Fly Lady, she's helping! More on that later.
So, the point of this post in what I'm sure will become a series, the one thing in her bedroom that I absolutely could not get a handle on were her books. She has a very nice book shelf that I'd love to use. But when the books are on the shelf she always always ends up dumping them all out! And once 75 books are dumped on the floor the room goes to hell in a handbasket FAST! And I get overwhelmed and I just throw my hands in the air and say FINE! Stay that way then! And it's a vicious cycle.

So about two weeks ago I decided I'd had enough. Something had to give. So I got two Thirty One bins, the your way cube, and the your way rectangle. I pulled all her books off the shelf and put them in these bins. I told her if I found them dumped on the floor they were going up. No more books.
(I really hoped she didn't push me on this one, what kind of mom wants to take all the books away?? I was so bluffing!)
It's been two weeks. I find a few books scattered here and there but they have not been dumped out once. I have a theory, they're stacked in like records. I think it's easier for her to thumb through them and see what she wants than it was on the shelf. I also think the bins are too dang heavy for her to tip over.
It's win win. Her room is organized with Thirty One, which I love, and I don't have so much mess to clean up.
Mommy for the win!!

My 2nd favorite DS company!

Might be obsessed a little with my #origamiowl bracelet. It's the first time I've gotten charms based on my likes! I have the best Origami Owl rep ever! She helped me earn so much free stuff! Thanks Courtney!!
So we have the coffee cup. Because Duh! The purse for my #thirtyone obsession. The key because I am the key to my own success. Good or bad. The sunflower because the princess and I are growing them and loving it! The B for my last name. And the OMG for my love of social media! Love it love it!!

Easter!

Easter was amazingly fun. The princess loved her basket and had the best day with her family. She hasn't put her pink lamb down since yesterday morning. And if her "basket" gets out of her sight she loses it! I guess that means she's really going to love using her round about caddy for her pool bag! Come on summer!

Friday, April 18, 2014

Easter!

In love with my precious girl's Easter basket! She picked it out all by herself and I know she's going to be so excited when she gets it. After Easter it will be used as our pool bag to carry her toys to and from our pool. I love the thirty one round about  caddy so much. It is so versatile!

Friday business tip!

Friday #thirtyone business tip! Save all of your plastic, unless it's been monogrammed and you do not plan to ever gift it or resell it. I put all my plastic together when we get kits (whether they be add-on kits or incentive kits) and put a note card inside telling me what it is and what catalog it's from. This makes it super easy to find when the catalog is over and you are clearing out inventory!

The trick to the trick!

I know all of our minds are still blown from the amazing ordering trick shared by fellow director Amanda Elmore last week. My life is forever changed. BUT many of you have been asking me, "It won't let me add multiple products of the same style and print using the trick, what am I doing wrong?"

Saturday, April 12, 2014

Whoa!

First time using my #thirtyone pack and pour thermal. It can hold a lot!!

Make room for groceries!

Do you run out of room in your grocery cart? No room for your bag, your kid, and your groceries? No problem! Just use your Thirty One key fob to hang your bag on the cart and enjoy utilizing that space for much more important things, like bread and eggs!

I got 99 problems...

It occurs to me as I prep food for a super fun evening with friends that I am truly blessed to have found a job that I love!

Never look for a chip clip again! Store your salty snacks in a your way rectangle from #thirtyone and keep them corralled on the handle!

I'm a junky person

I struggle with being junky. I junk up my car, my room, my purse, my life! I'm messy and I admit it.
BUT in my old age and especially now that I'm in charge of another human I am working very hard on changing my habits. Starting with my house first of course. I've started following The FlyLady. She's amazing and if not for her Crisis Cleaning Podcast my house would never be clean and ready for "The Man" to get home from work.
"The Princess" and I are working on changing our habits, we're both starting from scratch, her because she's a tiny kiddo and me cause I have bad habits.
We've each got morning and night routines that we follow, post on that soon, and I'm attempting a new routine to keep my car from getting out of hand. I just cleaned and detailed it and then realized that my console always looks messy because I keep so many little things close at hand. Lipstick, mascara, pens, money, you name it it's junking up my console. SO... I had this brilliant idea. I'm keeping everything in a Thirty One Soft Eyeglass case! TaDa!!!

So far it's working out really well. I throw everything I "need" in it and then either leave it in the console looking all cute or throw it in my bag when I get out. And if "the man" needs to drive my car he just throws it in the little pocket thing.
SUCCESS!!

Now.. if I could only find my sunglasses..

Which emotion will you choose?

Sometimes it's hard not to wake up in a bad mood just because it's Monday. Stupid Monday.
You can't control that it's Monday, (again!)
You can control how you feel about it!  So what are you going to do with this brand new day? I think I'm going to bless my home with a little home blessing hour from the fly lady. And then I'm going to take my kiddo outside because it's going to be a beautiful day!
Happy Monday everyone!
Make good choices!

Eye roll y'all!

Are you a quitter?

I've always been a quitter. I'm not proud of it. I hate it about myself. But I just always have been. When something got hard or didn't come easy anymore I'd quit.
So it's no surprise to myself or anyone around me that I almost quit selling Thirty One.
I would sit at home with my daughter and whine (in my head) about how it wasn't working for me. Doesn't that sound funny? Sitting around whining because something wasn't working? Rather than going out and making it work. I think I expected people to call me to book a party. Thankfully my lovely director who I hated then and adore now refused to let me quit. She gave me a little tough momma love and I got off my tuckus and got busy. And you know what? She was right. When you work this business like it's your job, it will pay you like one. When you work it like a hobby, it's going to pay you like a hobby. End of story.
So when I stopped whining and started working my business and life in general thrived!
I've never regretted NOT giving up. But I know I would have regretted giving up.

What sets your soul on fire?

When I decided to sell Thirty One my #31why was pretty simple, as a new SAHM I wanted to be able to contribute. Even just a little. My goal was to pay for one grocery trip a month and to be able to pay for the extra things that my daughter and I liked to do.
It has since changed and evolved, I'm paying for much more than just one grocery trip a month and feel like a contributing member of my household.
My why is now bigger than me. It includes other people. 27 to be exact.
27 women who are taking charge of their life in one way or another. Some who have small goals and some who have large goals.
Watching these ladies work hard to achieve these goals is what sets my soul on fire. It pushes me to work just as hard.
Seeing that hard work payoff is my new why.

It's so windy today!!!

I love making images. And my precious girl loved starring in this one!

Me choose?? Me??

Monogramming is the most fun thing ever! If it's not moving, monogram it!
But choosing a monogram is like choosing a tattoo.
You want to make sure you are going to be happy with it forever!!

It's a big decision on your own bag. So nothing strikes fear in a consultant's heart like having a customer ask us to choose. You want me to choose your monogram?
What if I pick wrong? What if you hate it? And then you're stuck with it!

Even just picking font for a customer gives me a panic attack! What if I go too girly? Or not girly enough?

If you MUST choose for a customer ask them a few things. Do you like cursive or print lettering? Are you whimsical? What's your favorite color? These things will definitely help, but you'll probably still have a panic attack when you submit your final choice.

Good luck and Godspeed!

Who doesn't love Target??

These accordion files from Target are AMAZING for hostess packets. They have a slot for everything including any money or orders taken by your hostess before her party. And best part? They're only $1! You have to catch the Target $1 spot on the right day but when you do stock up! I love finding these. Especially when they have the pink ones!
And my hostesses love having everything they need at their fingertips!

The last monogram for the rest of my life..

So, I'm getting married!! We're already practically married but we're making it legal. Here's our engagement picture. Watermarked so no one makes us into a meme! We're silly. And it's fabulous.

Anyway, the point! The super amazing thing besides marrying your best friend, is when your last initial doesn't change!! All my beautifully monogrammed Thirty One bags will still be relevant!!! But I did go ahead and order a Zip Top Organizing Tote with my future last name. How could I resist?? They were on sale!! It's beautiful and I love it and I'm obsessed with it. And the best part is the look on "the Man's" face when he saw it. It warmed my tiny baby heart.

Now I just need some wedding themed Thirty One note cards!!

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

Yes!

This is actually how I feel!! When I get new product I just want to roll around in it and carry it everywhere!! They say in life you have to find something you are passionate about to be happy. I am DEFINITELY happy!!

The perfect baby gift!!

The gift I ordered for my friend's baby shower just came!! I will be filling the Timeless Beauty Bag with all the things she needs for portable baby changing! It's going to be adorable!! Will share pictures when it's finished!

Do you hustle?

I have to remind myself of this. You have to hustle to succeed. It's just fact. I'm a bit of a dreamer. I have a lot of big ideas but I lack the follow through. Thirty One is the first thing that I've really worked for and I am so thankful for it! I found something I love and I can be passionate about! So that helps when it's time to hustle! Now off to work!!

Office in a Box!

Monday I posted a picture on Instagram of my "office in a box". I had several people ask what was in it. So here is a breakdown of the box that keeps me sane. Backstory, I am not organized. I DESPERATELY want to be organized but it never works out. So although I have an office/desk in a corner, it's always messy and I can never find anything. Hence the reason I've started keeping everything I need in this Your Way Cube. It's mobile and small enough to keep organized without becoming overwhelmed. You'll notice that it's not just Thirty One stuff in this box, for me there is no separation between job and home. It's all meshed together because it's easier for me that way. If I have too many "systems" I get confused and again overwhelmed.

So here goes!

"What's in the box??"

We'll start with the big picture, this is my "office in a box". It is a Thirty One Your Way Cube with a Fold N File inside.

A. Document holder, I keep this stocked and ready to walk out of the house or to a party at all times.
It has: order forms, recruiting fliers, special fliers, and catalogs.
B. Various envelopes for mailing catalogs, invites, minis, whatevs.
C. Hostess packets stocked and ready to go at all times.
D. My fabulous stamp from Dear Madaline Designs
I stamp catalogs, minis, my kid, my dog, anything that will sit still.
Because I don't use business cards, I stamp my mini catalogs and
pass them out like candy.
E. Welcome to the Team notecards
F. Labels of various sizes. I use labels to stamp my catalogs.
Keeps it from smearing and let's me choose where I want it to go.
(on the front over the jean skirt)
G. My weekly planner from Dear Madaline Designs.
H. Extra order forms
I. Extra catalogs.

What's in my Fold N File?
Usually I pull this out and throw it in an Organizing Utility Tote when I'm going to a party. Sometimes if I've been lazy and the Fold N File isn't stocked I'll grab the whole cube. But I try to avoid doing that if possible.

a. Order forms
b. Recruiting fliers
c. Monthly special fliers
d. Completed parties, order forms, order print outs, any notes I've taken.
e. The Princess's artwork
f. Grocery store receipts.
(coming soon to the files, business receipts. I ran out of files.)
g. My planner. It holds my entire life.
h. Pretty tape for mailing.
i. My timeless beauty bag containing all of my many notecards and stamps.
j. Extra mini catalogs
k. Small prizes for parties and hostesses, key fobs, nail files, rosette clips.
l. My thank you cards that I attach to the pink bags, also from Dear Madaline Designs
m. Pretty paper clips for my planner
n. My Square reader

So there you have it! My "office in a box"!

How do you keep your life organized? I'm always looking for new ways to do things!

Don't throw out your old catalogs!

How many of you direct sales consultants have tons of outdated catalogs? I know I do. I tend to buy too many so I don't run out. I'm then left with a big stack that can't be used. I decided to put them to use! Waste nothing! My wonderful friend over at Dear Madaline Designs taught me to make these cute envelopes last summer. My life was changed forever! I now use them for everything!! Christmas gifts, goodie bags, door prizes, so many choices!! Now I will spread the love and share with you! Normally I use a glue stick for these, but the catalog paper is so slick and it's going through the post office I thought it should be extra tight. Hot glue it is!
Here we go! Super cute envelopes in just ten steps!!

Step 1: Gather up your old catalogs. Open it to the middle and find the seam. Remove the staples. Don't use your fingernails! These guys are tough!!

Step 2: Look at all these beautiful future envelopes. Choose your favorite page!

Step 3: Fold the right side in, to meet the middle seam. Flatten the fold nice and thin.

Step 4: Repeat step 3 on the left side.
(you can fold these to make the envelope as small or large as you like)

Step 5: Glue the seam down, from the top all the way to the bottom. I use as thin a strip of glue as possible so it's not bulky.

Step 6: Glue the bottom of the envelope closed, as close to the bottom edge as possible. Remember, thin strips of glue if you're using hot glue. Bulky envelopes are no good.

Step 7: Fold over the bottom of the envelope and glue down. Flatten that fold down nice and tight.

Step 8: Fold down the top of the envelope. I like to make a bigger fold for the top. You will not be gluing this one down!

Step 9: Add your fillings for your happy mail! Your customers will be so excited!
I like to seal the envelope with my business information. Maybe someone will see something they like on my "envelope" and they'll know exactly who to contact!

Step 10: Add your labels and head off to the post office! I guarantee these envelopes will not soon be forgotten!
(I have not been to the post office yet, I don't know how much postage this will take but will update when I do. I can't imagine it will be much.)

I tried to explain it well but if you have questions, feel free to ask in the comments!

Side note, when using these for goodie bags I punch two holes in the top flap and tie it with a ribbon. The bow is usually MUCH bigger but I was toying with the idea of sending the bow through the post. I decided I'd rather use a sticker with all my info on it.
